Fred Maher

Fred Maher is an American drummer, programmer and record producer.

He was a member of Massacre (1980-81), Material, Scritti Politti, Lou Reed, and is best known as the producer of I'm Talking's album Bear Witness (1989), Lou Reed's album New York (1989), Matthew Sweet's album Girlfriend (1991), and Information Society's self titled album (1988, which achieved platinum sales status), their 1991 release Hack, and a track on 1997's Don't Be Afraid. In the 1990s, Maher regularly worked as a studio drummer with Lloyd Cole and he co-produced Cole's debut solo album.

He has often collaborated with entertainment producer Ron Baldwin.
